Daily 80's Video #80: Okay, so we have Kip Winger. When he burst on the scene in the late 80's every guy wanted to be him and every girl wanted to be with him, and probably some vice versa. Whatever that means. Anyway, I get a kick out of Kip Winger in this video. He doesn't really play the bass much, maybe not at all, but he does do several choreographed moves with it, including his patented spin and kneel move, which he does, I think I counted, like 10 TIMES! Hilarious! Enjoy Kip Winger the man who oozes sex all over your TV and computer screen.
Daily 80's Video #79: Ratt was a pretty formidable hair band. They didn't have many hit songs, but the one they had, "Round And Round" was one of the best from the 80's. I'm not sure how they got Milton Berle to be in their video. Well probably by paying him loads of money, how else? And they even had enough money for Berle's sister. That was the spare no expense attitude of that most decadent decade. Enjoy, well, Milton Berle, Ratt themselves, with Steve Pearcy's eyeless attitude, and some seriously scary looking bandmates. RIP to the scariest one, the big blond guitarist, Robbin Crosby, who passed away in 2002.
Daily 80's Video #78: Here's a classic 80's video. Quiet Riot were a phenomenon when they burst on the seen in the early 80's. Although they were reluctant to record "Cum On Feel The Noize", perhaps this is why they inserted the "F" in the chorus "Girls Rock Your Boys", you can't argue with the success. "Cum On Feel The Noize" was a smash hit and put Quiet Riot on the map, where as before their only claim to fame was being Randy Rhoads' band before leaving to join Ozzy Osbourne. Enjoy the fun storyline, the amazing energy in the performance portion of the video, and the general kickass nature of this monumental 80's song. RIP lead singer, Kevin Dubrow.
Daily 80's Video: Here's a really fun video from the 80's, Hall And Oates' "Out of Touch". With these guys, similar to Wham, it leaves me wondering what exactly does John Oates do in this band? As far as I know, Daryl Hall does all the lead vocals. Well, to pin down exactly what John Oates does, besides a lot of cool dancing in this video, I went to Wikipedia. Okay, well, apparently Oates does sing lead sometimes. In addition he writes a lot of the music and plays guitar, synthesizer, and something called a synthguitar. Enjoy the general fun atmosphere of this video, including the oversized drum kit, the hokey yet fun special effects, the contributions from the other bandmates, ie. GE Smith (guitar), T-Bone Wolk (bass), Charles Dechant (sax), who would all eventually join the Saturday Night Band. Get song on Amazon. Get song on iTunes. Get album on Amazon. Get album on iTunes.
