D80sV #87: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Get Up And Jump (Live)

Daily 80's Video #87: Here's some EARLY Red Hot Chili Peppers featuring guitarist, Hillel Slovak, who I consider to be the band's original guitarist, but only played on two of the band's albums, the second and third. During this stage of the band, RHCP weren't as commercial as they would eventually become. At this time they were incredibly funk-driven, even utilizing the Godfather of funk, George Clinton, as producer for their album, Freaky Styley. Sadly, Slovak died of a heroin overdose in 1988 and was eventually replaced by John Frusciante. After Slovak's death, drummer Jack Irons left the band, eventually joining Pearl Jam. RIP Hillel. Get some D80sV merch. Or maybe curl up with a good ebook. Go to next D80sV.
